Plaud Note Pro is worth it if the quality of your audio and what you do with it after the meeting matter most. Comulytic Note Pro is a fair budget pick if you mainly want cheap, unlimited raw transcripts. Comulytic Note Pro costs less up front and offers unlimited basic transcription for free. Plaud Note Pro costs more, but it records with a 4 MEMS microphone array with AI-Beamforming, includes 10,000+ summary templates even on the free plan, and comes with a broader set of security certifications.

Plaud Note Pro is a physical AI note taker for in-person meetings and phone calls, and Comulytic Note Pro targets the same jobs. Both are credit-card-sized AI note takers that attach magnetically to the back of your phone. Here is who each one suits, followed by the five differences behind it.

Who should choose which?

Choose Comulytic Note Pro if you:

  • Want the lowest upfront price
  • Record many hours but only need transcripts and basic recaps
  • Work in sales and want built-in client profiles

Free plan: unlimited minutes or full features?

This is the biggest difference. Comulytic limits features and gives you unlimited minutes. Plaud limits minutes and keeps its summary templates on every plan.

Comulytic's free Starter plan includes unlimited real-time transcription and basic summaries. Its deeper tools are capped: in-depth AI analysis runs three times a month, real-time translation once a month, and classification is manual. Unlimited, auto-generated in-depth analysis needs the Premium plan.

Plaud Note Pro includes the free Starter Plan with 300 transcription minutes a month. Within those minutes you get the core Plaud Intelligence tools, including 10,000+ professional summary templates, custom templates, highlights, and Plaud Desktop. The Plaud Pro Plan and Plaud Unlimited Plan mainly add transcription minutes, and both include the full feature set.

A simple way to choose: if you record a lot but only need a transcript and a short recap, Comulytic's free tier goes further. If you want structured, role-specific summaries from every recording, Plaud gives you that from day one.

What you pay in year one

Comulytic is cheaper on paper in most scenarios. Here is the honest math at list prices, with annual billing.

Heavy: 40+ hours a month, full AI analysis

$428.99 (with Unlimited)

$398.99 (with Unlimited)

For regular users, the gap is about $10. For heavy users, Comulytic costs roughly $150 less in the first year. That extra spend on Plaud buys the 4 MEMS microphone array with AI-Beamforming, a larger set of certifications, and the wider Plaud workflow covered below.

If budget matters most, Plaud Note at $159 records calls and meetings with the same AI and plans, and it lands below Comulytic for regular users. Compare every Plaud tier on the Plaud AI plans page.

Recording hardware: microphones, calls, and battery

Plaud Note Pro has the larger microphone array. Comulytic wins on standby time.

Plaud Note Pro uses a 4 MEMS microphone array with AI-Beamforming, plus 1 VPU (voice pickup unit). The VPU picks up phone calls when the device sits on the back of your phone, and the device switches between call and meeting modes on its own. Comulytic Note Pro uses 2 MEMS microphones plus 1 VPU, and it also records calls without manual switching. Both brands rate pickup at up to 16.4 feet. The difference is the array: a 4 MEMS microphone array with AI-Beamforming on Plaud Note Pro, and 2 MEMS microphones on Comulytic Note Pro.

On battery, the two are close for recording: 45 hours on Comulytic and up to 50 hours on Plaud Note Pro in Endurance mode. Comulytic's 107-day standby beats Plaud's 60 days, which matters if the device sits unused for weeks. Plaud Note Pro also supports Apple Find My and supports dual-band Wi-Fi for file transfer.

AI workflow beyond the summary

Both turn recordings into transcripts and summaries. Plaud goes further into the rest of your work, while Comulytic leans into client management for sales roles.

Comulytic builds client profiles from your conversations, offers an industry glossary, and adds agent workflows such as email and document drafts, powered by monthly credits. It is designed around salespeople, agents, and consultants who manage many client relationships.

Plaud Intelligence covers transcription in 112+ languages, multidimensional summaries, and Ask Plaud for questions across all your recordings. Plaud Desktop records online meetings on your computer without a bot joining the call. Connectors for Google Calendar, Notion, Slack, Zapier, and Plaud MCP are in preview on all plans. Teams can move to Plaud Team for shared files and central billing.

Plaud also offers more ways to capture. If you want something you wear instead of a card on your phone, Plaud NotePin S, a wearable AI note taker, clips to your collar and runs on the same account and plan.

Security and track record

Both brands list core privacy standards. Plaud lists more of them and has a longer track record.

Comulytic lists SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and CCPA compliance and AES-256 encryption. Plaud adds ISO/IEC 27001 security management and ISO/IEC 27701 privacy management to independently audited SOC 2 Type II controls, GDPR, and HIPAA, and its devices are built to meet EN 18031 cybersecurity requirements. Your data is never used for AI training unless you explicitly opt in. The Plaud Trust Center has the details.

Plaud has served more than 3 million users globally since 2023. Comulytic is a newer brand that recently began selling under the Comu name, which is worth knowing if your company needs vendor reviews before you buy.

Pick the plan model that fits how you work

Decide what you need after the meeting. If a raw transcript is enough and price comes first, Comulytic is a reasonable budget choice. If you want every recording turned into a structured summary you can search, share, and act on, get Plaud Note Pro and start on the free plan.
