Get Plaud One if you take most calls and online meetings on earbuds, or want to record and use AI without your phone nearby. Get Plaud Note Pro if you hold your phone for calls, record in-person meetings, and want the longer battery, the display, and the lower price ($189 vs $249.99). The deciding difference is earbud calls: Plaud One records phone calls and online meetings through its own earbuds, capturing both sides of the conversation, while Plaud Note Pro records handheld phone calls with the device attached to your phone.
Plaud One is a pair of wearable AI earbuds for phone calls, online meetings, and in-person meetings, and Plaud Note Pro is a physical AI note taker for in-person meetings and phone calls. Both are AI note takers that sync to the same Plaud account. Plaud One also adds a built-in eSIM, so it stays connected without your phone, and it is built around Plaud Agent. Here is who each one suits, followed by the four points behind it.

Do you take calls on earbuds?
If you do, choose Plaud One. This is the clearest dividing line between the two.
Each Plaud One earbud has three MEMS microphones and one VPU microphone. The VPU captures both incoming and outgoing audio, so a phone call or an online meeting taken on the earbuds is recorded in full, your voice and the other person's. You do not need to hold anything to your phone or switch apps. The earbuds also double as everyday earbuds, with adaptive active noise cancellation and a transparency mode.
Plaud Note Pro records calls through its VPU (voice pickup unit). Its call mode is designed for handheld calls, with the device attached to the back of your phone by its magnetic case, and it switches between call and meeting recording automatically. When you route a call to Bluetooth earbuds, that handheld setup no longer applies. For online meetings, Plaud Note Pro owners use Plaud Desktop, which records on your computer without a bot joining the call.
So the question is simple: where does call audio go during your day? Into your ears points to Plaud One. Through your phone's speaker held to your face points to Plaud Note Pro.
Do you want to work without your phone nearby?
Plaud One can. Plaud Note Pro relies on your phone to sync and process recordings.
Plaud One's charging case has a built-in eSIM with 4G LTE, and LTE access is included with the Explorer Edition. The case can record an in-person meeting on its own, upload it, and let you talk to Plaud Agent, even if your phone is in a bag or out of battery. Recordings and outputs still sync to the Plaud App when it is available.
Plaud Note Pro records on the device and syncs through your phone over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. For most desk and meeting-room work, that is not a limitation. It only matters if you often step away from your phone or want answers while it is out of reach.
Do you want notes, or an agent that acts on them?
Plaud Note Pro is built for professional note-taking. Plaud One is built around Plaud Agent, which turns conversations into finished work.
With Plaud Note Pro, you capture the conversation and Plaud Intelligence delivers transcripts in 112+ languages, structured summaries from 10,000+ templates, and Ask Plaud for questions across your recordings. It is a mature, dependable workflow.
Plaud One adds a dedicated Agent button and voice access. You can ask Plaud Agent to research a topic, draft documents and follow-ups, or prepare for a meeting, and hear the answer in your earbuds or through the case speaker. Plaud describes Artifacts (reports, decks, spreadsheets), Connectors to tools such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, and Notion, Skills, and scheduled Routines. Many of these are Plaud Intelligence beta features, so availability can vary by language, region, and software version, and some arrive through later updates.
If you want reliable notes today, Plaud Note Pro delivers. If you want to try voice-driven agents and help shape them, Plaud One is the one to explore.
How long do you need it to record?
Plaud Note Pro records far longer on one charge. Plaud One trades battery for its earbud form.
Plaud Note Pro records for up to 30 hours in Enhance mode or up to 50 hours in Endurance mode, and stands by for up to 60 days. Plaud One's case records for up to 25 hours, and the earbuds record for up to 6 hours. For listening, the earbuds last up to 6 hours with noise cancellation off, or up to 36 hours total with the case, and a 10-minute quick charge gives about 2 hours.
For a full day of back-to-back calls on the earbuds, plan to dock them at lunch. For multi-day conferences without a charger, Plaud Note Pro is easier.
What both devices share
For in-person meetings, the hardware is on par, and the AI platform is the same.
- Room capture: Plaud One's case and Plaud Note Pro both use a 4 MEMS microphone array with AI-Beamforming and pick up voices up to 16.4 feet away.
- Press to Highlight: both let you mark key moments while recording.
- Plaud Intelligence and plans: both include the Starter Plan with 300 transcription minutes per month, and the Plaud Pro Plan and Plaud Unlimited Plan work the same on either. Compare tiers on the Plaud Intelligence plans page.
- Security: your data is never used for AI training unless you explicitly opt in, and it is encrypted in transit and at rest. See the Plaud Trust Center.
Buy for how you take calls
Think about your last ten calls. If most of them went through earbuds, choose Plaud One and get the device built for that. If you held your phone for most of them, get Plaud Note Pro. Your recordings and plan stay on your Plaud account either way, so you can add the other device later.
Before you record, take a moment to let others know and get their okay. If required by law, obtain consent from all participants before recording, and comply with applicable law. Consent rules for calls differ by state, so check this state recording law survey before recording calls.
